49 million clients since its founding in 2013 — is this a sign of success and reliability? Don’t rush to answer if such claims are being flaunted by a Forex broker. After all, this could simply be a common deception or fake. In our Materia Limited review, we will examine a so-called British company that naively believes it can attract gullible clients through deceit.

The official website of Materia Limited does not impress with either professionalism or originality. The pages are filled with images of people taken from free stock photo websites and pseudo-advantages. All information about the number of clients, turnover, and net profit is clearly fabricated.

The navigation is standard: at the top of the site are sections about the platform, the company, trading conditions, legal documents, and the list of assets. On the homepage, the broker explains how to start trading, answers popular questions, shows two “testimonials”, and boasts about awards and partnerships with major international banks.

Materia Limited - website

In the top right corner are buttons for registration and logging into the personal account, and next to them is a language switcher. The site supports English, Russian, Italian, German, and Polish, which indicates a focus on European traders.

Overall, the site looks mediocre and does not inspire trust. An experienced user would likely be put off by it. Let’s try to register an account to assess the personal account interface — maybe we’ll find something more interesting there.

Registration is simple: you need to provide contact details, a name, and a password. After that, the platform immediately opens, built into the personal account, which is inconvenient and impractical. The personal account is a small window where you can change details, upload documents for KYC, and request a withdrawal. Deposits are made in a separate window.

Deposits and withdrawals at Materia Limited are only possible through Visa/Mastercard. There is no support for payment systems or cryptocurrencies, even though cryptocurrencies are gaining popularity due to their simplicity and convenience.

Our Trading Experience With Materia Limited

The Materia Limited trading terminal is absolutely unimpressive. Essentially, it’s an embedded platform based on the popular TradingView service but with limited functionality. You won’t be able to connect your own indicators — only the basic ones are available. Yes, technical analysis is fully represented, but that’s where it ends. The platform is offered only in a web version, as mobile and desktop options simply do not exist.

The platform doesn’t represent anything serious. It’s only suitable for opening and closing positions and performing basic technical analysis. Any more advanced actions are impossible here. Moreover, trading can only be done through a browser on a computer. As is known, browser-based platforms lag behind desktop ones in terms of performance and optimization.

The Reality Check

Okay, now let’s move on to the main part of our Materia Limited review. The broker claims to operate in the UK and holds a license. Fortunately, verifying this is quite simple — all registers are available for public viewing.

Let’s first find out whether the Financial Conduct Authority has indeed kindly permitted the company to provide brokerage services. A search revealed that the regulator is unaware of this firm’s existence. It’s literally not in the registry. You can verify this in the screenshot below.

Materia Limited - FCA

So, the first fake has been uncovered. Next, let’s check the registration of the legal entity. Registration number 08429692 indicates that such a company was indeed registered in 2013 in England. However, the primary activity of this firm is listed as “64209 — Activities of holding companies, not classified elsewhere”. This clearly has nothing to do with brokerage services. Materia Limited company registered in the Companies House registry likely has no connection to the website materialimited.com.

The firm was registered in 2013. To verify this, we need to see if the subject of our review has any evidence of operating for more than 10 years. So, let’s move on to the next section.

How Long Has Materia Limited Been in the Game?

If Materia Limited had really been operating for more than 10 years, it would have an old website and many reviews on the internet. However, why was the domain materialimited.com only registered in June 2024? And why are there so few reviews about the broker online? In 11 years, the firm should have built a reputation as a reliable intermediary, but this hasn’t happened.

Domain

In reality, Materia Limited only started operating a few months ago, not in 2013. The company whose registration data the scammers are hiding behind has nothing to do with this brokerage platform.

Extra Fraud Indicators

So, where do the platform’s 4.2 million clients, $73.4 million in net profit, and $3.7 billion in capitalization come from? Nowhere. This is fake statistics. Where the scammers got these figures from is unknown. They may have made them up, or possibly stolen them from somewhere. Moreover, Materia Limited lies in other areas too:

  1. The STP technology is also fake. There’s no access to market liquidity through STP here. Instead, the platform processes clients’ orders itself, creating a conflict of interest.
  2. Instant execution of deals on servers in Equinix NY4, New York — yet another lie, with no evidence to support it.
  3. Positive reviews — fabricated comments that should not be trusted under any circumstances.
  4. Partnerships with HSBC, Bank of America, Barclays, and other banks — where’s the proof? Would such large and reputable financial institutions really partner with an unregulated, small CFD firm?
  5. Industry awards for brokerage services — also fabricated.

Is Materia Limited the Right Fit?

This broker is definitely not suitable for trading because it is fraudulent. The company cannot provide guarantees and openly lies about licenses, its operational history, and other details of its activities. All the facts of fraud are right in front of you. Now, it’s up to you to decide — ignore these red flags and trust anonymous scammers, or forget about this fake firm and find a reputable, legal, and safe platform. Of course, we recommend the latter option.

3 client reviews for Materia Limited

I’m simply at a loss for words. I deeply regret that I rushed and didn’t check how Materia Limited really operates. It turned out to be a fake and fraudulent brokerage company. I thought they were genuinely regulated by the FCA and had been operating for over 10 years. So, I deposited $10K. But later, I realized I had made a mistake, but it was already too late. I submitted a request to withdraw my funds, but it was unsuccessful. The scammers are ignoring me and don’t want to return the money. I contacted a lawyer for help, intending to file a complaint with the FCA, but that’s not possible. Or rather, it’s possible, but I won’t get my money back. I sent it to some scammers. There’s zero chance of getting it back. I want to warn everyone not to transfer any money here.

The worst company I’ve ever seen . At first everything was ok, and then they were calling me all the day! I had some private problems and i told them that i wanted my money back and the answer was there are some difficulties. I submitted a request to withdraw my funds, but it was unsuccessful. Also they told that unless i
keep working and trading with them, then I’ve to pay a penalty of 1000€ because i took the place for someone else. I regret that I found this unprofessional “company ” and i wish that i could take ny money back!

То, что вы делаете, это мошенничество. Нельзя так обманывать людей. Для этого есть закон. Будет сложнее, но это произойдет.
